Gift giving is something I love.  Early on I noticed that gifts create bonds. Lewis Hyde talks about this in his wonderful book, The Gift: The Erotic Life of Property.

More recently though I’ve noticed that I can be a kind of bond-aholic. Am I connecting with people or with my need to feel connected?

There is a great solution for this. Slow down. Notice all the ways that I’m held. Especially by the trees and air and earth.

Simplicity is also the door to mystery.  What waits for us there?
