Here is what I wrote in a spiritual direction session shared with a Mystic Tech companion. So grateful to be in this Hidden Monastery– inspired day by day.
“Fan into flame the fire that is within you for God did not give us a spirit of fear but a spirit of power and love and self control.” The Bible
I was born from fire and ordained by it.
Mothers womb was a halocaust and I was her joy.
Fire cannot burn out fire.
I was a teen when I got my last spanking from my father
for standing too close to the fire!
His fire or the fire?
At my ordination Judith Rock told about mystic Blaise Paschal*
and the parchment sewn inside his jacket pocket with the word “FIRE!”
I have her sermon somewhere, and the song we sang,
“We come from the fire all of us the fire,
we come from the fire turn the world around.”
I’ve walked Hawaii’s lava field on Pele’s hot black mouth
her red toothed song steaming into the sea.
No fear. I’m her daughter. Fire from Fire.
In Australia with black craypa smeared my face, drums vibrating the walls
I danced the flame of patriarchy out of me. For nine months I could barely move
till rekindling with a new blueprint on 9/11 the twin towers went up in flames
Can Fire destroy fire?. I was ready to lead.
Love fires life in this global warming, this kundalini emergency.
We need a new fire dance. Not the dance of weapons and curse,
but enduring courageous Feminine Fires of Hearth, Art, Prayer
fed by Masculine Fires of Ecstatic Discipline and Joy.
“Fan into flame the fire that is within you for God did not give us a spirit of fear but a spirit of power and love and self control.”
*Blaise Pascal, scientific and spiritual prodigy said, “Heart has it reasons which reason does not know at all.” On November 23, 1654, Pascal experienced a “definitive conversion” during a vision of the crucifixion: “From about half-past ten in the evening until about half-past twelve … FIRE … God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, and not of the philosophers and savants. Certitude. Certitude. Feeling. Joy. Peace.” He recorded the experience (called the “Mé;morial”) on a piece of parchment, which he carried with him the rest of his life, sewed inside his coat. He began a life-long association with Port-Royal—though he, unlike his sister, never became a “solitaire.”
If you are moving from direct connection with source and seeking support for discernment, encouragement, and wisdom I am honored to offer support. I offer free 30 minute consults and have a couple of spots for ongoing online prayer and coaching. This is surprisingly similar to other forms of non-local spirit connection, sustaining and empowering. I also offer retreats. November 12-16 I’ll be leading a small group in Santa Fe focusing on your artful journey with Body and Soul. Find out more.
